My message was not so directly borrowed from the Bible as in former years, and was more suggested or inspired by it. Not the sight of my eyes upon the page, so much as the experience of mind and heart with its truths, was placing it at my disposal. The process of change consisted mainly in this same thing, that I was taking up the great truths of revelation, and using them for myself as truths, and following them to their application and result in doc- trine, and allowing them to assimilate whatever could live with them and ex- pel whatever could not.
