Far removed from all human aid, "I saw," says Captain Luce, -" moTe than two hundred men, women 6 and children, struggling amidst pieces of the wreck, calling upon each other and upon Almighty God, for help;" nearly all of whom sank, after a few convul- sive efforts, beneath the rolling waves of the sea !
The captain saw Mr. Morris, when the ship went down; and well remembers him. He was active in saving others, but fell a victim himself.
