FORM AND MATERIAL 15 The two mirrors from the Kitikshan of the upper Skeena are of a hard, black slate, quite different from that of the Nishka specimens. PL iv exhibits one which, in size and shape, is similar to the mirrors of the Xishka, but the upper and lower edges are curved, a difference noticeable in all the specimens from the interior. It is polished on both faces, incised with cross-lines on one side of the handle, and notched along the upper edge. PI.
