RIVERSIDE, Aug. 19, 1883.
(After his return from the coast. ) The next day after our return I thought myself a great deal better than when I went away ; but the day following 1 did not feel nearly so well, and all the week I have felt rather miserable. I do not know what it means ; my appetite is not so good, and if that fails I do not kno...w what will happen. I felt pretty well at the coast until the day we left then I was not so vigorous. On the whole, I did not like Willmore City any too well ; it was pretty cool for me at times, and I was not so comfortable for that reason. I spent a good part of the time out of doors, but it was fearfully monotonous for me.
I went to see the doctor this morning ; he does not seem to think that I am any worse ; advised me to try the moun tain air, and I am thinking seriously of going on Monday to Crafton, 28 miles from here, to stay until next Saturday, at least.
