[At a meeting of the Legislative Council of the Governor-General of India at Simla, on the 19th October 1900, a lengthened debate took place on the Punjab Land Alienation Bill on the motion that the Reports of the Select Committee on the Bill be taken into consideration. Four amendments, brought forward by the Hon'ble Kunwar Sir Harnam Singh, were subsequently discussed, and negatived.
