Very respectfully, ^^^^^ ^^^^ CITY REGISTER'S OFFICE, Baltimore, Jan. 21st, 1842.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: In compliance with an order of your House, the undersigned respectfully presents the following statement, shewing " t...he amount of moneys received by him each and every year from the capitation tax of one dollar and fifty cents per head on foreign passengers, under the provisions of the act of 1832, ch. 303, and what proportion of said moneys have been paid each and every year to the German Soci>3ty and Hibernian Society of Baltimore." The amount paid into the City Treasury on account of foreign passengers for each year respectively is as follows, viz : For the year 1833, . . - . $2,638 50 - - - 9,868 50 5,370 89 8,540 73 9,452 59 7,124 63 8,821 47 10,154 76 6,216 63 Of the moneys thus received, the following payments to the German and Hibernian Societies will shew the sums to which they were respectively entitled out of said receipts.
