This sphere he can no more desert without loss of his highest development and blessedness than the tree can flourish in barren sand or the earth dart from its orbit beyond the solar system, and still enjoy that light -and heat from the sun which now clothe it with the beauty of flowers and fill it with the joyous music of sensitive life..
Within that* sphere, enjoying the conditions for which he was made, there is for man a completeness in rational enjoyment and beneficent activity of all his powers, which the perfection in the lower objects of nature can only symbolize.
