That from the Temple of Jupiter Stator at Rome (Fig. 93) Avas perhaps the most richly foliated example Avhich has ever existed; but the height at AAdiich it Avas placed must have concealed much of its delicate Avorkmanship. The foliage is said to have been taken from the Acanthus mollis, but it has very little likeness to any natural 54 type.
