Yet by degrees was their fright allayed, and I gave them fome toys, and fent by them to Powhatan^ his women, and children, fuch prefents as gave them general con- tent ; and mighty glad was I once more to recover my freedom.
It was lucky for our little Colony that I came back when I did, for thedifcontentedamongft them (and there were fome who could, or would, fee no good in anything) had broken loofe, and were all in combuftion ; the ftrongeft, once more, preparing to run away with the pinnace, and fo break up our little community.
