Traces have been... found of the fivefold division of the original in the shape of a phrase seeming each time to mark the close of a section of the narrative (3. 40 ; 7. 42 ; 10. 9 ; 13. 2G ; 15. 37). It has been conjectured that Jason is to be * Both books of Maccabees are absent from the Vatican MS. (B). The 2nd book also lacking in the Codex Sinaiticus.
