This orJer was prudentl7 complied with, and the diftu.'bances by degrees fubfided. From this time the Quakers became in general an orderly, peaceable people, and have lubmitied to the laws of the governments under which ihiry have refided, except fuch as relate to the militia and the fupport of the miniilry, and in their fcrtiples as to thefe they have from time to time wifely been in- dulged.
