Nathanael Greene's experience, during the next two years, in the intricate details of military administration, was of incalculable service to him throughout that magnificent campaign of forced marches, and furious battles, by which he recovered for the Republic three of the Southern States, and inscribed his own name next to that of Washington on the roll of famous Revolutionary generals.
