For there is one God, one mediator also between God and meny himself man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all} The argument is clear : God, who is the Saviour of believers, wills also the salvation of the world ; the One God is the God of the whole human race, and desires the good of all He has made.
In like manner the One Mediator represents all man- kind ; He took their common nature, and He offered Himself in that nature for all.
