All weights were reduced to the vacuum standard using the following specific gravities : Pal- ladium metal, 11. 45; pallado-diammonium chloride, 2. 55; pal- lado-diammonium cyanide, 2. 5. Platinum boats were tried, but it was not possible to heat them suffi- ciently high without danger of alloying. It was then dried and heated to bright redness in hydrogen for one hour.
