Unto a stra...nger thou mayest lend upon usury.* Evidently the stranger is not a brother, else why does it say again : Of the children of the strangers . . . shall ye buy . . . they shall be your bondmen forever: but over your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule one over another with vigor.f and again : Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien^ To give or to sell putrid flesh to the Gentile, or the * Deuteronomy xxiii, 19, 20.
