He says that as he was on his death- bed those of his friends and the leading citizens {ruy ttoXituc o2 jSAtio-toi) who were sitting round him were speaking of his nobleness and power (t^s &p€T^5 Kal T^s dvvdfMeujs) and going over his victories in war, thinking he was no longer conscious.
