The eggs re- semble very large Pheasant's eggs. It feeds chiefly upon fish, frogs, and water insects. AMERICAN BITTERN. BOTAURUS LENTIGINOSUS. Genus BOTAURUS. A rare accidental visitor, generally in the autumn.
