Dating Paris, March 17, 1805, he says, "Dear Sir: My last was of the 9th inst. , and I am still without any of your letters.
" It is my intention to set out in the course of two or three days for Nantz and Bordeaux, from there to Marseilles, then to Lyons, and return to Holland, without passing this place again. I shall probably be in Amsterdam in the course of... six weeks, perhaps sooner. " Mr. Skipwith has some idea of going himself to the United States with his bills ; but if he does not, which is by far the most probable, he will send them to you for collection. I mentioned to you his having expressed a wish to have his commissions, in the event of his sending his bills to you, paid to him here at the rate of 108 sous per dollar, which is par, twelve months after he hands me the bills.
