8. I. This passage might well seem to round off the ideas of the previous verses. But here we have a sudden return from the concep- tion of human wisdom to that of the divine. It is not the wisdom that repels vice which manages the world ; that wisdom is concerned with the ordering of a man's own life. There can be no doubt as to the meaning of ano Triparos els nipas.
