BY FRANCIS B. C. BRADLEB 51 found themselves once more "pocketed, " so to speak, by the Eastern Raihoad, for that corporation, by the pur- chase of 15, 274 shares of stock of the Maine Central Railroad, at a cost of 11, 220, 538, far above the market value, obtained the control of the latter road.
