The head of the pullet or hen is silvery white Striped with black. Lower down' the neck the stripes get broader, till at the bottom they are very broad, nearly covering the feathef, and ending in blunt or rounded points. The rest of the plumage should be pencilled, according to One or the othef of the standards above described, the pencilling especially reaching up to the throat, and one of the chief points in a show bird being that the character and depth of marking on the breast appro^iches that of the rest of the body as nearly Owp.
