And said Board of Trustees shall at the request of any member of the Department who has arrived at the age of sixty years retire and relieve said member making such application. Such retired member shall receive from the Police Relief and Pension Fund a monthly pension equal to one-half of the salary attached to the rank held by him one year prior to the date of his retirement. No such pen- sion shall be paid unless such person has been an active member of the Department for twenty years in the... aggre- gate preceding his retirement, and the same shall cease at his death.
Sec. 95. Any member of the Department who shall be- come physically disabled by reason of any bodily injury re- ceived in the performance of his duty, upon his filing with the Board of Trustees a verified petition, setting forth the facts constituting such disability, and the cause thereof, accompanied by a certificate signed by the Chief of Police, the Captain of the Division to which he belongs, and by two regularly licensed physicians of the City, recommend- ing his retirement upon a pension, on account of such disa- bility, may be retired from the Department upon an annual pension, equal to one-half of the amount of salary attached to the rank which he held one year prior to the date of such retirement, to be paid to him during his life, and to cease at his death.
