EXILED CLERGY OF THE REVOLUTION.
The brief biographies in this chapter con- tain the leading facts in the lives of that inter- esting group of men, the Loyalist clergymen who went to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick between 1776 and 1786. Some of them, as will be seen, soon returned to the United States, or else took passage for England, but not a few remained for the rest of their lives in the old Acadian province by the sea. The names of these clergymen have never been gathered to...gether before, and it is possible that after the evacuation of Boston, still others may have gone with the fleet to Halifax, whose names are not recorded here. The list as com- piled is as follows : Rev. John Agnew.
