After landing La- fayette the 'Brandywine' remained in the Mediterranean... until 1826.
Lieutenant, now Purser Cox ' next duty was at Boston Station from 1829 to 1832. April 1, 1833, ordered to the 'Vincennes,' Pacific Sta- tion. From 1835 to 1837, special duty as Agent for the United States on the Pacific Coast.
"His last duty was on the Brazil Station in 1841, on the frigate 'Delaware.' He was transferred to the 'Potomac' and returned in her to the United States and was detached at Boston, August 11, 1842.
He was granted leave of absence for three months, which was ex- tended.
