Good, who, in 1849, commenced business as a cotton broker, and was a few years ago succeeded by Mr. Morris Henderson (Morris Henderson and Co.), another of Gladstone's apprentices.
229 continued by his two sons, Harry and Edgar, under the style of Eobert Musgrove and Sons. In those days the Cotton Brokers' Association, as subsequently established, was only in embryo. The principal brokers were in the habit of meeting together weekly at each other's offices, in rotation, for the purpose of colle...cting statistics, arranging quotations, and so forth. On the death of Mr. Robert Musgrove, a resolution was passed at the next weekly meeting instructing the Chairman to write a letter of condolence to Mrs. Musgrove and family. This is noteworthy as being the first letter of the kind written by the Associated Brokers As a further mark of esteem, Mr. Musgrove's son Edgar, then only nineteen years of age, was elected to take the place of his father at the meetings of the Association. The partnership between the brothers was dissolved in 1840.
