The dignity of the divine Maternity raises her above all the Saints, and, by reason of it, the honour which we give her is special and superior to that honour which we give to the Angels and Saints. Because we honour her, not only on account of the degree of sanctifying grace with which her soul was enriched, which is the species of honour called dulia, given to the Saints, but we honour her by reason of her Maternity, and, therefore, by a higher kind of honour than that which is paid to any other creature.
