Much rather that he should ride war horses, than back race horses; and — I say it sternly and deliberately — much rathei- would I have him slay his neighbour, than cheat himu But remember, so far aa this may be true, the game of war is only that in which the full personal power of the human creature is brought out in management of its weapons.
