PENNATULIDA. 43 I have also included amongst the synonyms Gondul mirabilis Koren & Danielssen, and I am able to do so with perfect surety, as I have had the opportunity of examining the only existing specimen of this form, the type-specimen in the Bergen Museum. It is not difficult to see that this specimen is nothing but a mutilated fragment of Pavonaria finmarchica from which the calcareous axis has been extracted; and thus originated the free edges of the four longitudinal valves.
