Also I hould it as convenient that the like musters be exactlie taken of all the horses, geldings, ...hackneis and carte lades within yo r Majesties dominions, Therein notinge which bee apte for men at armes to carry bardes which for Launders, which for light hors- men, after the Northerne fashion, which for stradiotes after the Hun- garian manner, which for harque- busiers and archers, and which for carriage, and so to be iiirolled under those severall titles. Of which musters and inrolernentes I would have perfect bookes made for everie the saide severall devisions according to the forme and manner of one which I have made for the devision wherein I dwell and serve yo r Majestie, and the same faire written, to bee transferred upp to the Councell-table, to the end that yo r Ma tic and your privye Councell only maie once perfectlie knowe the certaine number of men and horse con- 1 6 DEFENCE OF contayned within yo r Dominions, and the severall sortes of the same which alwaies will keepe one proporcion.
