To hear Christ ridiculed pains them in the same way as it would to hear their own mother scoffed at ; and contempt for the idea of an infinite Father, although they do not believe in it themselves, strikes them as implying contempt for the human mind itself Among many friends who have given up theism and personal allegiance to Jesus as Master, I have not.
