Next door to him, and envious of his lot, Like caged giraffe, by well-barred window sat A tall, dejected, henpecked sort of man, Who tried to sing, and thus his measures ran: — 66 TEE FIRE ON TEE HEARTH " I envy the happy old bachelor Who sits by the window there, So peacefully mending his trousers, With candle upon a chair.
