If your mothers have any misgivings about your bringing up, redeem yourselves." At this point they joined again their old friends, the New York Ninth and other regiments of the brigade, and bivouacked for the night. At four o'clock on the morning of the 8th of July, the entire command of Col. Stone marched for Martinsburg, twelve miles, arriving there at noon ; they joined the command of Gen. Pat- terson between Williamsport and Martinsburg.
