The danger is that, while everybody may become educated in a certaiQ practical or vulgar sense, nobody will be educated in that other and less obvious sense in which the privileged class was once educated. There is danger, in short, that the very same forces of opinion that make it possible that every- body should be usefully educated should pre- vent anybody from being liberally educated.
