This shows that the principle of appropriation was not unknown at that early date. These are varied with many incidents of local adventures, of estates gained by grant, or by what were in fact mere marauding expeditions. Every- where we hear of little groups of Kajputs, under efficient leaders, seizing on and extending territorial possessions.
