538. — For burns, scalds, sore nipples, chapped hands, put the inner bark of elder and a teacupful of fresh, unsalted butter in a frying pan and stew slowly for one-half hour, strain through a thin cloth, put in a wide-mouthed bot- tle and keep covered.
