There are several bridges of this character in this country, two in California, one or more in New York, in Alabama and other localities, but this in Virginia is considered the most celebrated. It is in the south-eastern corner of Rockbridge County, and is regarded as one of the most singular nat- ural curiosities of which the country can boast.
