So when another farmer had the audacity, right alongside of this field of wheat, to grow 115 bushels of oats per acre on a large patch, without any arti- ficial aid, depending wholly upon the seed, the soil and the water from, heaven, there was more to be considered.... So de- velopments keep going on and we take the best of everything from the top, and have still an inexhaustible supply of coal (59) underneath us, and, goodness knows, what else, J or, so far, we have not had time to go after anything else, though we have taken the time to burrow into the cliffs for a supply of our good grey sandstone for our public buildings.
