One of the stray bits of argument presented by moderate drinkers more to justify themselves in their use of alcoholic drinks than to convince others, that alcohol preserves the health of the physical system, and they try to prove it by the fact that alcohol will pre- vent the decay of flesh that is put in it, and therefore it prevents the decay of the human flesh. This sounds good and reasonable at a glance, but when we look into it a little deeper, we find that because of the fact that alcohol will prevent the decay of flesh, is proof that it is injurious to the human system.
