Sebastian, representing the Martyrdom of the Saint, is a work of symmetrical composi- tion and delicate tones, but chiefly characteristic as being apparently painted on a dry wall in the method called " secco. * Messrs. Crowe and Cavalcaselle pronounce this assistance to consist more in a general working out of the whole picture upon Perugino's outlines, than in the execution of any particular figure. Signoi- Morelli, however, considers the picture to be by Lo Spagna from a cartoon by Perugino.
