That at the s^^ assembly W™ Standish Esq. Did declare that he was indebted to the Franciscan Fryars at Don ay £1200, £800 lent by the Fryers to his -Father, and j6400 left by his father as a dona- tion to them; that the said William Standish then and there mortgaged his lands at Woolston in Lancashire for the said £800, and out of the same lands secured the £400 Don^^ by deed made to Father Fortescue, the agent for the said Fryers, for the use of the English Franciscan Fryers at Douay — and that Bishop Leybourn and father Jacob were witnesses to the deed.
