Thus, the difliculty of giving the children a good education — a consideration so important for members of the " people of the Book " — has already ceased to be an obstacle to the immi- gration of well-to-do Jewish classes. The existing schools, on the whole, n)cet even exacting requirements, and in point of fact for some years past a growing number of well-to-do families has come to the towns of Palestine, to swell the valu- able element of traders and consumers.
