There is, however, an Account Written by Two Mohammedan Travellers through India and China, in 851, which mentions the Jews, but the information afforded is not very extensive. All we are told, is that " The Jews have been settled in that empire (China) from time immemorial ", and we further learn, that at the period of the visit, " many of them for the sake of riches, and preferment, have abjured their own religion ", a statement confirmed by other writers.
