Feb. 21. Rev. John F. Leary, rector of St. Michael's Church, Chapman, Kan., and chaplain of the Grand Army of the Republic, died on this date. He was a native of Ogdensburg, N. Y. During the Civil War he served as a member of the Fifteenth New York Engineers.
That was before he became a priest. He was in the engagements at the Wilderness, Spottsylvania and Ap- pomatox. Though he was wounded at Bermuda Hun- dred, he was able to get back to his regiment in time to be in at the finish at Appomattox Courthouse.
