Kies & Co. , ...doing business at No. 80 Main street. This enterprise was inaugurated by Mr. Kies in 1866, and the present firm was formed in 1883 by the admission of Mr. James L. Coffee, who had been connected with the business in the capacity of salesman for thirteen years previous to that date. The senior partner is a native of Danielsonville, and his asso- ciate was born in this city. The premises now occupied are located directly opposite the post office, and as they have an area of about 1500 square feet, are capable of accommodating a large and varied stock.
