The Duke of JMarlborough, Lord George Sackville, and the other general officers, had no great taste for this species of maritime war- fare, and volunteered to take reinforcements for the allied army in Germany, Lieutenant- General Bligh was recalled from Ireland, and appointed to the command of the land-forces to be emj)loyed on the new expedition.
