The moment it struck the water, he was after it like liofhteninp- and rapidly diving with his hand under the coin fished it up, put it between his teeth and reappeared on the surface. He earned a good many six-pences in this way before he left our ship. After staying here for two days during which time we took on board a battery of the Royal Artillery and large quantities of ammunition we once more weighed anchor.
