Her husband arrived at Glasgow on Wednesday, July loth ;i and, two days after- wards, wrote as follows, to the Countess of Huntingdon : — - "Glasgow, July 12, 1751, ♦* Ever-honoured Madam, — My last was from Belfast, where I preached twice on yesterday sevennight, and immediately after took shipping, and arrived the next evening at Irvine.
