They were struck with astonishment, and observed that, " It was improper to meddle u with us, who were not makers.* 9 Men in power have as much right to trifle, as to act in an arbitrary manner. After a lapse of three months, we were informed that we might have all our property again, paying the expences of seizure, which amounted to up- wards of forty pounds. This was complied with.
We durst not apply to justice for redress, having too mighty a power to contend with.
