The returning officer shall endorse " rejected " on any ballot paper which he may reject as invalid, and shall add to the endorsement " rejection objected to, " if an objection be in fact made by any agent to his decision. The returning officer shall draw up a statement showing the number of ballot papers rejected and not counted by him under the several heads of — 1. Want of official mark ; 2. Voting for more candidates than entitled to ; 3. "Writing or mark by which voter could be identified ...; 4. Unmarked or void for uncertainty ; and shall on request allow any of the agents of the candidates to copy such statement. If the votes are counted by a deputy returning officer he shall, 34:0 Appendix. Appendix with the declaration of the result of the poll, report to the returning officer the number of ballot papers rejected and not counted by him, under the above heads, and no such statement as aforesaid shall be drawn up by the returning officer. The deputy returning officer shall, on request, allow any agents of the candidates, before such report is sent in, to copy it.
