He slouched back in one of the old, overstuffed chairs. It was the softest chair he had ever felt. Rock and roll pounded from a ghetto blaster at the center of the room. The music surrounded Michael. He felt like he had on the Boardwalk the night before, only even more so. The music was in every move he made. The rhythm moved his muscles; the melody flowed in his blood. He was the music, and the music was fine.
The... other Lost Boys were spread around the lobby on the other chairs and couches, except for Dwayne, who was doing some incredible moves with his skateboard in the entrance way, just in front of Michael.
Michael could watch Dwayne on that skateboard for hours. Maybe he already had. He had no idea how long he had been here. Wasn’t Marco coming with the food? Michael wished he’d hurry up. He was starving.
He suddenly thought of Star.
